STPI Annual Special Exhibition: Second Movement | Featuring Heri Dono
STPI’s 2022 Annual Special Exhibition: Second Movement
Opening on 11 June 2022

The ‘second’ in ‘second movement’ is never inferior to the first. It is a continuity, a necessary node in the progression of existence.
Curated by:
Khai Hori
Leading Yogyakarta-based contemporary artist Dono’s works are inspired by his experiments with wayang, the complex shadow puppet theatre of Java. Exploring both print and paper, Dono makes the most use of wild deformations and freestyle fantasies and has combined various artistic modes to achieve great emotive effect.
